Endings and Beginnings
How do we mark the completion of the entire first book of the Torah--Sefer Bereishit? With a Pajama Party, of course!
Last Friday, our Early Childhood Department celebrated a siyum of the Book of Bereishit by singing and dancing and reflecting on the words said by Yaakov Avinu to his grandchildren. HamalachHagoel Oti--May the angel that has protected me continue to protect you.....
These words are said by Jewish children around the world at bedtime each night. They are words designed to bring comfort to parents and children as we close each day. We hope for protection and safety and ask for the watchful eyes of Hakadosh Baruch Hu to be on us all the time. We snuggled together under the talit held by our dear teachers and sang this bracha softly and with love.
Following our siyum we went back to our classrooms for some hot cocoa and cookies. We cherish these moments and always love spending time together --teachers and children, Torah and mitzvot. That's what we're all about.
Chazak, Chazak, Venitchazek. Let's continue to be strong together.
