Incorporating Ivrit into our classrooms and daily school life enhances the interest our students have for learning the language and makes them excited to speak Hebrew even at home.
Ivrit is incorporated into our classrooms and daily school life; it is a consistent thread in the fiber of MDS. Beginning in Early Childhood, Ivrit is spoken frequently in and out of the classroom from greetings and directions to songs and holiday traditions. In the Lower School, our teachers use the iTaLAM Hebrew language immersion program and the accompanying books, songs, games, educational videos and creative tools, to offer a Zionist-Jewish learning experience. Our Middle School Ivrit teachers employ the highly engaging and research driven Ulpan-Or Hebrew language acquisition program. Leveraging modern technology and interactive online materials, Ulpan-Or builds and promotes an emotional and intellectual connection to Israel and modern Hebrew language.
